Yes, I still stalk the world, as evidenced by this:

So you're a colossal frigid squid?

...that's what I got out of that...

I miss TFC as well, Eldric. But the TFC I miss does not really exist anymore. From a programming perspective, I can't give Tynian and his fellow assistants enough accolades. TFC is a one of a kind mud, and they have all done an amazing job. However, as I have said before, I believe mudding in general has become an anachronism, a position I think most would agree with. I have had many a conversation with other people about this. Think about all the code changes and policy changes that Tynian implemented in an attempt to attract and keep players. None of them worked, and not because they weren't well thought out or implemented attempts. The reason they did not work is because the pool of players who might be interested to even try mudding is shrinking. I work with a lot of young people, some right out of college. When I mention to them a game that is all text based, they literally laugh in my face as if I am out of the middle ages. I might as well be asking them to write their mom a letter and send it snail mail. As for us old farts, we just don't have the time anymore to play like we used to.

Yes, I know what you mean. All of the people I know play WoW etc.. I find myself with less and less time to play - between work and home it's hard.

Those same people who laugh usually can't sit still long enough to read a book...but turn it into a movie or put it on TV, and suddenly you have their attention.

Degradation of imagination as a whole. Very unfortunate.
