I am not even slightly amused that just for a buck some company is turning my distant mollusk cousins, dumb as they may be, into "reconstituted dried clam broth".

At the very least, they should be given the honor of a decent breading and deep fry, with a nice cocktail sauce on the side. Preferably, they should be consumed raw, so they have a fighting chance to wreak some semblance of revenge in the form of a deathly case of food poisoning.

Turning clams into (I shudder at the very phrase) "reconstituted dried clam broth" and then drinking it mixed with tomato juice is about as low as one can go.

I didn't know people drink it without the rest of the bloody mary in it.

Hrm well, I just learned that if the bloody mary has clamato in it it should be called a bloody ceaser or a ceaser. Bartenders around here to not know this, and clamato and tomato juice are used interchangably.

Hey, I never said I didn't use it as a mixer, also. Just enjoy the taste of it solo, as well.
