Has anyone else tried to kill mage mobs since the change Tynian made?
I can't fight mage mobs anymore at all because I get charmed every single time. They were annoying enough with inversion, now they are litterally impossible for me because I get charmed within the first round or so.
Anyone else having this problem?

A mysterious sorceress says (in old-common), 'tu spyyy ozl!'.
You stop following a mysterious sorceress.
A mysterious sorceress DISEMBOWELS you.
Your armor deflects a mysterious sorceress's attack.
A mysterious sorceress looks at your fighting style and smirks.

A mysterious sorceress devastates you.

You are too stunned to do that.

You have been KILLED!!
This visit to the afterlife brought to you by a mysterious sorceress.
You LOSE 5549 experience points!
ok so i guess the charm wore off becuase she ordered me to attack everything in the room...... so I do have half a second to leave before the order goes through possibly? The charm wears off before the order?
The way this really looks is that the charm wears off with the tic.... then the sorceress attacks me and everything else int he room assists her. Is that what happened?
I guess tose mobs in tritons assist with the ye shall die chase.....? even though they dont assist when i attack her in front of them? Maybe i just got unlucky.....
I would like to add that it is possible that my dispel magic did not bring her detect invis down, I am wondering if i keep her from seeing me... if i can keep her from charming me. If this is so it would not be impossible to kill them......Though I don't really like this increased charm thing.... it is stillpossible to kill the mobs, for me its not worth it unless they have an item i am after.....

That looks unpleasant. I think I'll have to try me some mages too!
You even made those sea lions angry. Tsk tsk. ::up::

Charm shouldn't be going off every time. If it is, it's unintended.

I'm interested in seeing what happens with other people because that's all they do on me now is charm. The first time I fought one after the change, as soon as the charm wore off it charmed me again. It didn't attack or anything. I ended up having to set a trigger to leave the room as soon as the charm wore off just to be able to escape.

Ive not had any issues with charming mage mobs (should that be charm-casting mage mobs)? On the other hand, I fight them in silence.

I got charmed by shadres in 3 rounds, in silence.
Has anyone tried to get someone to kill the mob while they were charmed?

I fight them in silence as well. That doesn't seem to stop them.

Odd. Ive fought the entire Kuroth crowd about 4 times since the change and not been charmed. On the other, other hand I do wear north of -20svs.

If anyone is interested, steadfastness amulets will block the charm spell. I do not know if the highest level will be sufficiant enough to block archmage mobs though. I'm sure someone can test it and find out.

On Menel's fight, the charm wore off, she said 'Ye Shall DIE!' and attacked. You cast jump while not in combat, and were subject to lag. All the rest of the mobs assisted her, as guards will do....your invis probly wore off, or just the rest of them could see it...
....as for charming, if you kill the mob, yes, charm stops, I think....I got charmed quite a bit early on and either had to have the mob killed, or I had to be attacked to break the charm, when arch's were first implemented.
Any aggressive action made on a charmed victim breaks the charm.
Personally, I think it's funny, I went ld and Shadres charmed me, I lost connect to 120 hp and logged into full health though I had to wait for charm to wear off to kill....in my own silence nonetheless, and I'm at -20 svs-ish.
Personally, I like charm, just be careful if risks are around, I'd hate Orpik to walk in while charmed and mid-hp, heh....

I will make no further effort to tune the recent changes to archmobs until such time as I am able to find willing AMMQ participants, so that I am able to evaluate their performance for myself.
I may in fact reverse some of my previous efforts to adjust the recent changes to archmob strategy. After all, I wouldn't want to over-adjust. ::woot::

was this post in relation to Arch Mage mobs? or just mage mobs in general?

Just wanted to say that though the new arch-mobs are scary (especially when Tynain first tweaked em!) I think charm is a fun diversion, and just the sort of harrowing situations that make adventuring more than just a walk in the park. While my character may not like it much, I find it hilarious when my partner and I both get charmed, and then forced to attack each other....
