With the advent of fines and Mish, people usually only carry at most 3 pieces of equipment (to which fines apply) in their inventory. Also as gold can be deposited on mish rather than through finding a banker, it is rare for a pc to carry a large sum of cash on them.
I suggest there should be no debt for stealing cash. As it is you need to land a substantial sum in order to just cover the cost of bribing for the theft and people only have to deposit cash on mish to avoid having it stolen. It is so easy to avoid having it stolen I don't think there should be any debt for stealing it. I would still give the victim a just etc... but lets make it worthwhile to steal gold.
I suggest vastly reduced debt for stealing items. Since at most people keep a couple of pieces of equipment in their inventory (and usually its in a worn container or a ND bag so it can't be stolen) 99% of thefts are just of potions etc so lets drop the debt down drastically for this.
Also remember, one only needs to wear an AT to completely thwart the efforts of a thief.
On the other hand, I would also be in favor of not giving any debt to someone who pks a thief with a just due to a theft of the thief.
Thievery just doesn't play much of a role on TFC anymore. It can be a fun aspect so lets do what we can to put it back in play.
