Ok not really, but in case you all haven't heard me complain about it I think it's a bad idea that is abusable and misguided at best. Sorry if that offends anyone.
My "complaint" however I think is quite legit.....I logged on tonite several minutes after Piter had logged OUT....yet I've been getting floating damage bonuses for 20 minutes or more. In theory a person with a large damage set can log on his big guy, get the float working, then log on his newbie and basically xp with the bonus from his big guy to pump up his damage done. In the case of a relatively well connected character that means a ranger doing caps damage on mobs, warriors doing mass-demo consistently. Its an obvious way to abuse the intent of the floating damage system. I think once a player logs out the float needs to go away much more rapidly and people who log in after the big dmg person logs off should get no float at all. Just my thoughts.
I would like to reiterate that this floating dmg has done nothing to prevent "safe sitting", newspage watching, avoidance, or whatever. It may have made it easier for smart people to take advantage of their current eq to level up other characters. While i have no expectation of it changing back to the way things were (how rarely does it ever??), I still think doing away with the float is the best solution to the type of problem mentioned above.
TFC history will tell you that a big dmg set doesn't necessarily mean all that much in the face of superior tactics, planning, and play. I personally don't see why forcing people to be creative in terms of overcoming the built-in advantage of a superior set is a bad thing at all. But if we're keeping floating dmg as it seems we are, lets make it less abuse-friendly at least?
