If a character doesnt sign on for a long time worn limiteds should purge. This will motivate people to traverse the world and seek out items again, or possibly log in a little more often. Its frustrating to see chars holding limiteds that rarely log in and use them, half the fun of zoning is discovering the items they hold. I remember a time when item purging happened quite frequently, and i would like to see ithat again.

I think that's a really great idea. There are so many limiteds being wasted on people that never play anymore. I would venture to say that there are limiteds that most people don't even know about because they've been on characters that haven't logged in since they even came to TFC. It would be nice to get some cool limiteds back in the game.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this does happen already, but the time lag miight be signifigant. I didn't log in for quite a few months, and lost five or six valuable limiteds I was quite fond of (and was wearing).

It does happen - maybe the question here is "Should it happen more quickly?"

Our memories diverge. From my POV, purging happens more regularly and more aggressively now than it ever has in the past.

Item purge time is based on how long a limited item is worn. This does mean that an item may not purge for a while, if you were really active and used the item a long time. I did it this way so that people who were very active but went on vacation or left for a short time wouldn't lose all their stuff.

Unlike previous purging schemes, items will purge whether the character logs in or not, which is a change from previous purging schemes.

Do you have a couple of examples of items you feel should have purged long ago, but have not?

That totally disappeared.

Wow. Thanks for the example.

The item is on an inactive character. And not set to purge for some time.

I'll investigate further.

you mean the item that should never have been made for such an easy zone? or am I mixing it up with some other ridiculous item?

There was a problem with purging.

Some items had purge times greater than the maximum allowed. Those times have been shortened.

I have also included weapons in limited purges. They were previously excluded.
