Im not a hundred percent sure about this but as far as i can recall i have never seen a metal about body/about waist pop with an ac higher than 9. If this is true why do they not pop? And they should. So my idea is just a thought that iron, steel, mithril, chromium, platinum, titanium, and or adamantite about body should be put in the game. Or is there a reason for them not being availible?
Just my thought that in my years of playing this game i have not seen one. And a metal wearers only way of getting a high ac about body/about waist is to use a dragonscale or elven chain item which are both leather items.

thats all i got just a rough thought

though don't quote me on this, since I'm unfamiliar with metal wearers, wouldn't that give an already ridiculously ac'd character more AC? About body has a multiplier on it, if memory serves.

Yes, abt bod has multipliers, which is part of the reason....the other side, is that if you make something for about body, it has to be somewhat flexible (mail of some sort, cloth robes, and the like). The materials you're suggesting are used in plate armor....and I have yet to see a piece of adamantite flex very much

Luckily, leather wearers have options that metal wearers don't.

There is no armor options that apply to leather wearers that cannot be applied to those who can wear metal. Pick up a piece of dragonscale or elven chain if you want a high AC in that slot. Even though it's not metal, it still has a high AC and can be worn by those who can wear metal, even thugs.

i agree with the ds and elven chain about bodys but haveing other metal about body and waist items would make those such leather items more avilable for the leather wear's and not held by those who wear metals.

It's not like there's a limited number of those things. They're random. You just need to make enough mobs repop enough times to create the possibility that one of those items you're looking for will be generated.

My point was that for pure AC, leather wearers have an option that is exactly the same as the best a metal wearer is going to find. Just doesn't seem to make as much sense to me. ;)

Well, the only thing I can suggest, is something like 'mithril mail' and maybe 'adamantite mail'.

Mind you, we have half of that. Elven chain IS mithril. So, AC11 metal. The difference being 'mithril mail' isn't made in quite the same fashion as elven chain, recieving the benefits of mithril, but not the craftsmanship that makes it so light and easily worn.

And Adamantite mail? Variation within...AC 11-13. Doesn't exactly change anything, but it does give a few more options for those who are metal friendly.

Maybe there should be an adamantite "bubble" that pops. Like a hamster ball that warrics can roll around in. With a peep hole and a breathing straw.

They may not be able to go up stairs very well, but I think overall it would really help give warrics that edge they've been missing.

You are right that the plate mails do not pop on waist or about body. I don't really see that as a problem, though. :) Metal wearers can find plate for most other wear locations. Plus, metal wearers can also wear anything that leather wearers can.

I love it when Tynian posts. they're always so concise.
