There have been a lot of changes recently to improve the value of almost every type of eq, with the exception of MR which has been discussed, but what about moves?

Currently, the only things I can think of that depend on moves is the vortex (which will not let you enter unless you have at least 50 moves) and regular movements from room to room.

In some mud code bases moves acts a bit like stamina in that the skills used during a fight require the use of moves to accomplish the task. These kinds of skills on TFC would be like the use of backstab, blynd, disarm, first, second and third attack, kick and any of the other melee attacks that are not automatic. If one runs out of moves the skill cannot be performed.

I know that, depending on classes, some triple-classed characters can reach upwards of 800 or more moves, so I don't think that there would ever be an excessive need for any kind of +moves equipment. However, if there was an actual use for this kind of equipment it might actually end up being used instead of sold to shoppies or sac'd on the ground.

(refering to the use of mv for skills), man what a bad idea, it's right up there with dmg cap and we all know what resulted from that. Definitely against something like that.

I don't agree on the bit on dmg cap, but I do agree with making TOO many things require moves.

Certain skills ((whether yet proposed or not ;) )) I do think, SHOULD require the use of mv points, but what and how much might require a bit too much debate

I have no philosophical objection to making MV more valuable. What I struggle with, however, is doing it in such a way that it makes sense. And as you pointed out, mature characters can have upwards of 800 moves, which means that +MV changes will have a much more dramatic impact on lower levels. And frankly, that's why lower levels like refresh so much -- one can run out of moves easily as a little one.

Well, if you base it off of skill specifics, used in like, sneak, it would just expend more as the skill grows better, as you still have to put more energy into doing it as you've learned to on a base level. For higher level skills, just a cost could work, since nobody who has low moves will be able to use those skills anyway.

Just some idle thoughts.
