Tay's thread-jacking! Get him! :>

FWIW - Tyn's stated he doesn't consider OM's a stand-alone class, per se. I'd suggested something like thie before and the idea was rejected.

Just be thankful you can wear all that nifty plate and get to eff 50. :p If this idea is implemented, you'll still have that option too

sorry for "thread jackin" before...
i suggest give om's a couply more spells from the mage class and shaman class, they seem to be mostly from the cleric class, i'm not talking like exclude cloak portal rift, im talking like, regular id, teleport, attunement, sanity?maybe this post is a lost cause, but im suggesting it anyways :D

I'd kinda of like to see this also, I was thinking fly, dispel magic reg id. Since we are supposed to be the appointed mortal to represent our god seems we should have a more diverse skill set.

Your memory is correct, Pol.

Also, since OMs are the appointed mortal to represent their god, their skillset is rather cleric-centric, by design. And really, I wanted OM to be less useful for clerics, since they can wear metal and don't really need more advantages. The OM skillset is thus more useful for non-clerics.

As Pol pointed out, I consider OM a complimentary class, at best. The main draw for it should be that you are representing your Immortal. Yeah, I know how idealistic that sounds. :)

Anyway, I'm not keen on expanding OM skillset. It's not necessary, it's for a tiny segment of the players, and distracts me from working on classes that need it more.

Who knows, though. I might bring back a Paladin trick or two for Good OMs, for old times sake. ;)

Oops. I forgot to also mention that OM is essentially a "temporary" class. It is likely that sooner or later, it will go away. Thus, you should be planning your characters based on the permenant classes. Anything that OM gives you is a (temporary) bonus.

It wasn't meant to be particularly harsh. Hmm.
