since they were never a factor before, it kinda sucks for those level 30+'s who didn't train int/wis because of this. I think everyone 30+ should get 2 trains or something so they can train these stats? It seems fair to me since the new 'required' stats have gone up, no?

I disagree with this. Even if you had needed to train int and wis before, you would not have gained any more trains than you did while leveling.
If the issue is being max level and simply wanting/needing more trains, like eff 50s who weren't able to train everything to max. I think an idea previousely posted by Pitt should be considered. Something along the lines of after getting X amount of xp you can get the possibility of getting a train. Like being max level and once you have gotten your 'tnl' to 0 get the possibility of getting a train as if you had leveled again.

I definitely won't be doing this.
This is a case where our perspectives are on opposite poles. For me, high natural stats and trains are bad. I want you to have to compensate for lower stats with magical equipment, and if you are naturally all maxed out, that's less +stat equipment you'll need to wear to get maxed.

Want some cheese?
But seriously, I agree with Arella

This is what equipment is for. Use it! Now we have a use for all those +5int and +5wis items.

Kind of off the topic of this thread, but it is as close as I could find.
I understand the rational behind the new int and wis changes and wanting to make spells do more damage and thus used more. However, I think a minor detail was overlooked. Some level 30 mages are no longer able to see their own invis. I agree with the varying levels of detect invis and invis as one levels, but it seems a little silly to not be able to see what you've cast. Even beyond being able to see your own invis, I think that a level 30 mage should be able to see an invis cast by any level 30 mage. Some spells need a cap.

Pump your detect invis, most mages I know do that anyways.

I do, but that's not the point. ::cool::

By this same token, shouldn't the detect already be pumped by the same effect that pumped the invis?

I agree, I just like to play the role of captain obvious whenever possible.
I do think a mage wearing 25 WIS should cast a higher invis than a mage without 25 WIS would detect (unpumped). But yeah, in any case, you should see your own invis.

Just to make sure I understand, are you saying that you should be able to see your own invis regardless of whether you have cast detect on yourself, or are you concerned that your unpumped detect does not allow you to see an invis you cast on someone else?

My unpumped detect does not see the invis that I cast on someone else. I can still see myself.

I like that. Means that people could be caught unawares by a high level mage invis with high wis, if the mage who cast it still needs a pump to see it. We need the element of surprise out there for attacks to even be possible.
Then agin, some have to leave safe too...ohwell!!

Oh yeah, and I'm against giving trains out. I did very much like Pitt's idea. maybe it could be a setting 'you have 5 more Hero levels available' or something.
