While I think the recent rift changes are a good idea they may want to be toned down a little:

Above them is a vast open space, reaching to the top of this cavern. Below you
the cold stone is stained with muddy brown puddles, some of them a slightly
fresher red. The air is chilly, and every slight sound you make echos around
you.

wow, that's weird because my rift blows now and i'm a level 28 shaman... i see like devastate and maim. rift was fine the way it was being level based. shaman is one of the hardest classes to level in my opinion, we work hard to get up in levels our rift should do more damage. i would say cap it at like 100 hps and continue to have it being level based.

Yeah. Not sure what happened. Last night my rift was deva-maim and today it was the one hit wonder...

I was involved in the testing for this change, and the tests came out fine. Using a L30 Shaman with capped WIS, rift was hitting reasonable levels - consistent caps, demos and anni's - against various sized targets. No one-shot kills, but no maul/dec/dev either.

This is probably some anomaly not accommodated in testing. I'm certain Tyn will have it straightened out soon.
