i'm curious to know how the new regen rates will affect elves. currently one of the reasons to play the elf race is for the inherently faster mana regeneration. if all races now have the ability to regen mana faster the race-specific incentive to play an elf seems to be lowered. how will elves be affected in the long run?

*clears his throat* a large number of people asked for faster regeneration rates. This was bound to cause minor issues, such as the elf regen thing.

cope. (I say this with 2 elven characters above 30)

*clears his throat again* thank you.

Why? It's a legitimate question. If all races received the bonus trains of humans, I'd expect an outcry and a new bonus for humans. Maybe increase elven regen above even the new stats, or increase THEIR max from 25 to 30 (or 30 to 35, etc).

it's not a question of coping to me. i expect all players to cope as needed for any change in the game.

however currently all races enjoy some advantage over others, not related to stats. elves have (had) faster mana regen. humans start with more trains. and so forth.

basically if i'm going to create an elf again in the future i would like to know whether one the of major draws is still available or whether i might want to chose another race based on that race's stats and advantage. and if mana regen is no longer a draw for elves will there be something else in it's place?

Elves still have faster mana regen, aside from the sleeping mana regen bonus that those with high INT get. What this means to me is that elves still do have an advantage. They'll get higher tick gains than the other races when running around, resting, and sleeping, because they can also take advantage of mana regen bonus for high INT, should they choose to.

The elf regen bonus may have been a little much, anyway, which would help explain why elves are the most popular non-human race, by far. Frankly, even with HIMR (High INT Mana Regen, of course) in the picture, elves still have more of an upside than most races.

So no, I didn't really have any plans for adding a new goodie to elves.

Is there something I am overlooking?
